Trump's Organization Attempted to Bring In Almost 200 Employees on Work Permits in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, even as his government was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the identical, a report released Thursday claimed.

According to information from the US Department of Labor, the business sought to bring in at least 184 overseas employees in the coming year for short-term roles at the former president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, golf facilities and his winery in Virginia.

The number of requests for temporary work visas for workers including waitstaff, office assistants, housekeepers, culinary employees and farm workers was the highest ever filed by the company, and increased from over 120 in 2021, when Trump’s first term ended.

It was also the fifth time in a decade that Trump had attempted to bring in over a hundred overseas workers for temporary positions at Mar-a-Lago, based on labor statistics.

The revelation coincides with a tightening on legal immigration by his administration that has included the introduction of a $100,000 fee on H1-B visas; extra scrutiny of the actions of the millions of people who already hold US visas; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and journalists.

In total, the business aimed to employ 566 foreign laborers over the five years the former president has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during the upcoming year.

Notably, Trump was questioned by certain in the Republican party this week for comments defending the need for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill certain positions.

“You can’t just say a nation is coming in, going to spend billions to construct a plant, and going to take people off an unemployment line who haven’t worked in years, and they’re going to start producing their missiles. It doesn’t work that well,” he told a host after she suggested that foreign workers undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House declined a request for response, and the Trump Organization did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
