Emerging athlete getting ready for major tournament

The rising star maintains considerable online following

Kai Trump will have numerous prominent backers as she starts her professional golf debut on Thursday.

The 18-year-old athlete, who is the granddaughter of Donald Trump, was granted a special exemption to play at Florida's Annika event in Florida.

The former president, a passionate golfer, operates multiple courses worldwide and often matches against his granddaughter.

"He's fairly competent. I can't say much but we play competitive games," she revealed.

Kai explained that her grandfather, who won't be present, advised her: "Simply don't get nervous."

"He essentially told me to play and enjoy myself," she continued.

"In my eyes, he's just a normal grandpa. He's not attending for the tournament. He's occupied with running the country, making him rather occupied."

Being non-professional, the golfer has played in just three tournaments this year and has position 461 in AJGA listings.

However she can get advice from 15-time major champion, in a relationship with her mother.

"He is the best player worldwide," Kai expressed.

"Additionally, he's an even better person. He advised me to go out there, have fun, and go with the flow."

The golfer will compete against some of top competitors in women's golf at the competition, featuring second-ranked the champion, British Charley Hull, Lexi Thompson and 2023 champion champion Vu.

The LPGA commented that involving Kai brings the sport to wider groups, especially with younger fans.

The social media influencer has substantial online presence and recently launched an exclusive apparel and wellness brand.

The competition starts at late afternoon GMT.
