The club confirmed their first game will take place at the partially upgraded Camp Nou over the weekend. They will welcome Athletic Bilbao in domestic competition over two years since relocating so building work could begin.

Not all seats will be available but 45,401 spectators can be present under the licence granted. After final construction, the Camp Nou is due to hold close to 105,000 fans, a rise from the old capacity. The club said recent additions comprise a new players’ tunnel plus modern locker rooms.

Barcelona held a fan-accessible workout inside the stadium in early November. Officials stated they are seeking authorization by UEFA to host the next European match facing Eintracht next month at Camp Nou. Their recent games have been held in the temporary ground.
